Ornaments that go inside the aquarium can be hazardous to your gilled friends, and all the plastic tubing is quite unsighty. Rule #1 for all aquarium owners is "Keep your hands out of the water". Pets like birds, snakes,  hamsters or mice could be introduced by attaching a cage underneath the aquarium and perches inside the glass dome.
